adidas SS19 Consortium in-house TERREX FREE HIKER
Over the last few years, we’ve seen leaps and bounds made in regards to performance shoe technologies. But it has taken a surprisingly long time to see those same technologies incorporated into outdoor-friendly footwear, despite the grandiose potential. Thankfully, with their Terrex Free Hiker, adidas seems to have finally taken the hint.
adidas TERREX is set to launch a brand new silhouette designed specifically for city-based hiking enthusiasts to get out of the big smoke and into the wild. The TERREX Free Hiker combines some of adidas’ most innovative footwear technology with next-level comfort to offer city-living outdoor enthusiasts unprecedented freedom to head from the city to the hills in a new, street-ready silhouette that has all the design specs to tackle the toughest outdoor obstacles.
The Free Hiker features a slick, monochrome design with a murdered-out Primeknit upper that provides sock-like comfort and a white BOOST midsole that provides cushioning primed for the toughest elements and landscapes. The shoe, which weighs a mere 385 grams, is also equipped with a Torsion system which flexes with the foot while in use, and is finished off with a Continental rubber outsole to offer stern grip primed for multi-terrain use.
The adidas Consortium Terrex Free Hiker will drop exclusively at Shelflife CPT store via live raffle at 9:30am. Remaining pairs will release online at 11am and the JHB store will have stock when it opens its doors 12 March.
