Shelflife Featured in The Hundreds!
After accompanying Eminem during his hugely successful Rapture 2014 tour, renowned Detroit-based photographer and art director, Jeremy "JD" Deputat, photo-documented his stay and experiences in Cape Town, within a blog post for The Hundreds.
From candid snaps of the CBD, to scenic shots of the City Bowl and surrounds, Deputat shares his views on a few quintessential Capetonian idiosyncrasies and details his busy itinerary spent at famed eateries, landmarks and heritage sites, with particular mention to Cape Town’s favourite sneaker retailer and outfitter, Shelflife.
“We stopped by Shelf Life and linked up with Devon & Nick, the two super cool cats who run the place. Africa’s first sneaker joint? What? We had to check it out. The store was really dope, tastefully designed and had some heat on the shelves. We copped a few pair of AM90’s, chopped it up for a bit, and bounced back to the block. BTW – their collab with New Balance & Dr. Z drop April 17th at Shelf Life, and other retailers on the 28th.
They are fire, and you’re probably going to wanna cop.”
Closing the blog post, Deputat shares a few images from the Rapture 2014 Tour concert, ending the piece with a class shot of Eminem on stage, rocking a pair of Air Max 90's, copped from Shelflife.
