The Air Jordan 18 - Black/Sport Royal made its debut in 2003, and 15 years later, it’s finally getting a retro release this month.
Michael Jordan’s final season in the NBA came all the way back in 2003, ending a two-year comeback with the Washington Wizards that came after the six-time NBA champion could no longer suppress his itch to return to the game. During that swan song campaign, Jordan Brand released the Air Jordan 18, a refined silhouette inspired by Jordan’s love of motorsports and racing.
Coloured in the same OG theme that is a nod to the Washington Wizards, the sneaker is made of black suede across its upper with a removable shroud to hide its tongue and laces. The sneaker is contrasted with metallic silver upper eyelets and royal blue for the lining and trimming. Final touches include flaps on the ankle that are inspired by the air vents of the Lamborghini Murcielago, while a blue midsole and black rubber sole tops it off.
The Nike Air Jordan 18 - Black/Sport Royal will drop on the 27th of October at our CPT and JHB stores via live raffle at 9am. Please note the online store will drop remaining pairs at 11am
