LEFF Amsterdam now at Shelflife
We are excited to announce and expand our watch and accessories offering to include LEFF watches, clocks and speakers from Amsterdam. Available exclusively to Shelflife in South Africa, we are carrying LEFF's Tube series in a multiple of colourways to suit anyone's taste, as well as the Tube Audio speakers, and Tube Alarm and Brick clocks.
Started in 2011, LEFF began creating a series of iconic interior timepieces, with their focus gradually shifting towards watchmaking. Working from their studio in the city centre of Amsterdam, they now create unconventional watches for the whole globe. They always use high-quality materials from a reliable and responsible source. For example, all our watches are equipped with 316L steel parts (the best steel quality available), mineral glass or sapphire crystal and have a water resistancy from 5ATM up to 10ATM.
LEFF Amsterdam works closely with experienced manufacturers that fully support the idea that design pieces should be durable. All their watches are checked and tested piece by piece to guarantee that it meets their high-quality standards.
The Tube Series comes in two main sizes, the T40 and T32, either with a leather or nato straps. For the design of the Tube watch, LEFF teamed up with Dutch Designer Piet Hein Eek. Piet’s unparalleled vision on design and LEFF Amsterdam's raw, industrial and sophisticated approach, came together in an amazing collection of refined yet tough watches. The design of the Tube watch has an iconic extruded ring that functions as the clock’s face. Therefore, you can recognize every LEFF Amsterdam watch by this unique characteristic
Coming in Steel, Brass or Black, the LEFF Audio Tube also enlisted the help of designer Piet Hein Eek. He designed a Bluetooth speaker in the same shape as the Tube Clock that looks great on your bedside table. You can connect the portable speaker to your mobile phone, tablet etc. through Bluetooth and listen to your own music. The Tube Audio’s compact size and long-lasting battery make it effortless to take along. It has the best components available and gives an extraordinarily good sound for such a small object.
Lastly, and also perfect for your bedside table, the LEFF Brick and Tube Alarm. Coming in Steel and White, the brick clock is a contemporary interpretation of a traditional way of displaying time. Reinvented by using a unique combination of graphics and materials, avoiding it to be subjected to a certain time period. The steel case is welded and brushed by hand which brings this clock to a high level of craftsmanship. This timepiece can be displayed on a surface or hung on the wall. 
The Tube Alarm sees Designer Piet Hein Eek apply his extrusion ring. Extrusion moulding is a design technique that involves forcing materials through a mould, the extrusion profile is what gives the material its shape. Piet Hein devised a ring like that for the design of the clock face.
