Inside the First KAWS Exhibition in the Middle East

Following his recent exhibition in Melbourne, KAWS is back at it with his global takeover. This time, he’s in the Middle East for his debut in the area. Titled “HE EATS ALONE”, the exhibition takes control of the Garage Gallery in Doha’s Fire Station Museum.

The exhibition sees KAWS displays over 40 significant pieces spanning abstract paintings, large-scale Companion sculptures, and commercial collaborations such as sneakers, skateboards, and toys. Highlights include a giant five-meter-tall sculpture called ‘COMPANION (PASSING THROUGH)’ made by KAWS in 2013 and his inflatable 40-meter public artwork ‘HOLIDAY’ from earlier this year, now floating at the Dhow Harbour.

Thanks @almayassabnthamad and everyone on the @dohafirestation and @qatar_museums team as well as Germano Celant, @2x4inc and @reem_althani7 for making this a great exhibition! #KAWS #HeEatsAlone #Doha #Qatar (can’t forget @samfriedman @jontywilde @hocafoundation )
