Japanese clothing brand BEAMS joins forces with ASICS yet again for a durable upgrade to the classic Gel Mai. The theme of asymmetry marks this as an exclusive, not to mention the use of GORE-TEX material. Although it’s invisible, this protective layer repels water droplets which brings some year-round appeal to this silhouette.
A camo colourway extends onto everything in sight from the lightweight nylon to the suede crafted overlays. Mini-ripstop nylon adds to the durability whilst conventional details stay true to the original. That includes clear synthetic piping which circles the ankle surround as well as the chunky Gel Mai midsole underfoot.
