The History of Mighty Jaxx
On a whim, at just 18 years old, Jackson Aw decided to wing it and head to Shenzhen to visit several factories to find out all he could about toymaking. "Toys have always been a big part of my life. I've been collecting them since I was in school. I wanted to make things I would buy myself."
Jackson then approached his friend Eman Jaman, better known as artist ClogTwo, to help him come up with a cool toy figure: a skeleton meditating on a lotus known as Hell Lotus, and so Mighty Jaxx was born. Now, the company has 3D printed and digitally produced over 100 original toy sculptures and delivered their products to over 50 countries worldwide- a huge transformation from the once hand-sculpted pieces.
Collecting the most sought-after items in all there forms has become an integral part of streetwear. This fusion of art, culture and exclusivity, leaves us with the vibrant and dynamic world of collectable toys. Among the key players is Mighty Jaxx, a Singapore-based toy design studio that has seamlessly blended sculpture, pop-culture and fashion.
Mighty Jaxx has carved a niche for itself by producing limited edition toys that push the boundaries of conventional design. Mighty Jaxx has collaborated with some of our favourite artists, designers and brands like Sean Wotherspoon x adidas, Jeff Staple, Netflix and even Formula 1; creating a diverse range of collectibles that serve as a canvas for artistic expression for both the collaborator and the collector.
Designer toys have undergone a transformative journey from a once underrated item into mainstream cultural artifacts. Mighty Jaxx alongside companies like Medicom Bearbrick have been at the forefront of this evolution, taking stereotypically childlike items into the world of unique and avant-garde art pieces.
