Instagram Now Lets Users Get Paid During Livestreams

Instagram is expanding on its stickers feature with a new way for creators to get paid while going live on the platform. Launching in USA first, the feature is open to users with 10K or more followers, allowing their followers to purchase badges and gift them to their favourites. Think Twitch donations but for Instagram.

Viewers on Instagram Live can purchase badges in increments of $0.99, $1.99 and $4.99. In return, badge owners receive a thank you message and their comments and questions will receive increased visibility for the duration of the Live. Badge owners will also appear in a list available to the creator for up to 90 days.

As Instagram states in their latest post, "By enabling badges, you can get paid for the Live content you're creating. Your viewers can purchase badges in increments of $0.99, $1.99 and $4.99, and as supporters they receive a unique thank you message, and extra visibility in your Live."

Stay tuned for the launch of Live Badges in South Africa and the rest of the world!
