Introduced in 1988, the 8000 was the first ZX shoe to feature the now-iconic Torsion bar that gave runners arch support while allowing for flexibility in the forefoot and heel.

With this important history in mind, first up in the series is deadHYPE's take on the adidas ZX 8000.  Berlin-based creative collective deadHYPE teamed up with adidas as part A to ZX celebration to put their own purple and pink twist on a classic. deadHYPE reworks the iconic ZX 8000 with premium purple leather paneling on the upper. Co-branded detailing is found throughout, as the collective really stamps its mark on the silhouette by removing adidas’ iconic Three Stripe branding in favor of a blank leather panel.

Shot and presented by the OVERKILL store in Berlin, this collaboration is inspired by the adidas BW Army, a retro silhouette that was designed in the late 80s for the German army.
