adidas: The Launch of the NMD Silhouette
This coming weekend adidas is scheduled to release a brand new silhouette labeled the “NMD”.
adidas has been working on a few sneakers that have helped bridge the gap between lifestyle and athletics, most notably the Ultra Boost and Yeezy Boost. Ahead of its release, the time-honoured brand takes us into their archives to remember three classic sneakers from the ’80s that served as inspiration for this new design.
According to adidas, the sneaker takes its inspiration from three previous shoes from the brand's archives: the Micro Pacer, Boston Super, and Rising Star.
All three sneakers are absolute classics in adidas’s archives and serve as the inspiration for the next phase of the Three Stripes’ rebirth. With a number of influential silhouettes rolled out in 2015, like the Tubular X and the more recent EQT “F15 OG” pack, there’s no telling what adidas Originals has in store for next year.
Adidas hasn't revealed much about the NMD silhoette, but the brand refers to it as, "Driven by a desire to experience. Inspired by the past but always looking to the future."
