adidas Japan has taken to Twitter to unveil a rather mysterious new video for an upcoming bit of tech they are dropping. Teaming up with EA Sports’ very own FIFA, as well as Jacquard by Google, the new venture aims to combine the real world with gaming. Now your real-life skills can affect your FIFA Ws!
Fitness trackers like Fitbit, Apple Watches or even just an app on your phone have become the norm these days, and The Three Stripes new GMR tech looks to fully utilise this trend. They achieve this by creating an insole with Google by Jacquard that you insert into your adidas football boot - much like the gyro-equipped fitness bands or apps mentioned above. The chip then records things such as speed and kicking power, tracking it in real-time and then reflecting in game on FIFA Mobile’s Ultimate Team.

The last reveal taken from the trailer is the fact that a mask is removed at the end of the video, revealing himself as player Paulo Dybala. Many are saying that this implies that the Paulo Dybala Ultimate Team card comes with each purchase of the insoles. Stay tuned for more info regarding adidas’ GMR technology. Let's just hope this doesn't stay on FIFA Mobile and gets the Console love it deserves.
