Commemorating the 2014 release of the Predator Instinct Performance Football boot, adidas Originals brings decades of groundbreaking performance footwear innovations to one of its all-time favourite lifestyle silhouettes for the release of the Superstar 80s Predator Leather.
Released in 1994, the original Predator boot was designed by Craig Johnston, a South African born, Australian bred former footballer. Built predominately of kangaroo leather, Johnston's innovation incorporated a series of rubber ridges on top of the toe box, allowing the player better control over the ball and accuracy during game play. The revolutionary design sparked the start an empire, seeing adidas release a series of Predator models ever since, including, most recently, the 2014 Predator Instinct.
Paying tribute to the original Predator football boot, adidas Originals fits its ever-popular Superstar 80s silhouette with a black, white and red colourway, mirroring the original Predator. Sporting a predominantly black upper, embossed leather takes care of the build, while a textured shell-toe mimics the rubber ridges of the Predator Football boot. White accents take care of the Three Stripes and heel tab, while red hits; seen on the adidas branding on the heel and Predator branding on the insole; finish the look.
