adidas Originals Powerphase in Two New Colourways

First released in 1987 as part of the Fitness collection, the adidas Powerphase is back! And its bringing all the nostalgia with it.

The adidas Powerphase was a largely forgotten silhouette until 2016. This is when Kanye West first previewed his new take on the 1980s silhouette, dubbing it the Yeezy “Calabasas”, and forming a new love of classic adidas sneakers in the hearts of many fans. Now, a full year after Kanye’s tonal takes on the Powerphase are all but sold out from retail stores, adidas has decided it is time for the silhouette to return- this time in a much more widely available form.

For their latest release, adidas has slightly modified the Powerphase from Kanye’s custom iteration, as can be seen with the original embossed Powerphase logo. The model sees a similar premium leather upper with a clear adidas window label on the side. An EVA midsole and split cupsole stay true to the vintage look and feel. The new look comes in two colorways, one with a white upper and cream outsole, while the other goes for a cream upper and white midsole.

Both adidas Originals Powerphase models drop this Saturday 2 March for the retail price of R1999 at our CPT store via live raffle at 9:30am. Remaining pairs will release online at 11am.
