'Some People Think I'm a Shoe' Coffee Table Book
The adidas Stan Smith is notably one of the Three Stripes’ most iconic silhouettes, and its history is celebrated in a new book titled, Stan Smith: Some People Think I’m a Shoe.

Since the model’s debut in the early ’70s, the Stan Smith has achieved cult status with countless variations, and here are fifteen obscure versions of the beloved silhouette. The book essentially covers the global cultural impact of the sneaker, which has seen collaborations with renowned artists, designers, and fashion brands, including Colette, Yohji Yamamoto, Raf Simons, Pharrell Williams and more.

Furthermore, this all-access volume includes commentary from veteran sports journalist Richard Evans, a retrospective of the evolution of the shoe, exclusive portraits captured by photographer Juergen Teller, along with stories from style influencers, sports legends, and sneakerheads regarding the impact of the silhouette, and many more.
In celebration of the book launch, adidas will be hosting book signings throughout September in New York, London, Paris and Tokyo, where fans will have the opportunity to meet the man named after the iconic sneaker, former world number one tennis player, Stan Smith.

September 9 New York City, 565 Fifth Avenue
September 18 London, 15 Hanbury Street
September 27 Paris, 3 ter Rue des Rosiers
