Shelflife is extremely honoured and excited that we will be stocking Amsterdam's finest, Patta, exclusively in South Africa. Our first drop is tomorrow, just in time for the new JHB store's opening.
Patta began in the heart of Amsterdam in 2004, soon becoming the centre of attention by bringing new excitement to the Dutch streetwear scene.
Before the Tier 0, Quickstrike and Consortium accounts, the Patta team travelled across the planet with wads of cash in their pockets, visiting obscure sneaker stores and buying vast amounts of footwear that was unavailable to the Dutch public.
Without any shipping accounts or even knowledge of the like, they either posted large boxes of shoes back to their hometown, or they threw them in big duffel bags and tried to bring them back on the plane. This unwavering determination to make success happen, the just-do-it-yourself mentality and the willingness to go against the grain are at the foundation of Patta's identity.
When Patta started out, the logo was used to make a small batch of t-shirts for friends, family and loyal customers. As demand was higher than expected, more were made and eventually evolved into our in-house brand. This small collection in the summer of 2011 was initially available at five retailers across Europe but has since grown in size, quality and availability with over 20 highly regarded stockists worldwide carrying the brand. Patta also opened a retail space in Soho, London in 2016.
Shelflife's first Patta drops consists of tees, long sleeves, a rugby polo, crewnecks and hoodies. The Slience tee comes in White and Black featuring Patta script logo on the chest, as well as a silkscreen printed graphic on the back. The same is true for the PT logo tee which also features high-quality screen print on the front, as well as shorter sleeves and a more classic fit when compared to the boxier Silence Tee.
Next, the Patta Relief Tee in Black features a soft ribbed construction with an embroidered logo on the chest. The Raaf long sleeves come in white and brown, featuring a crow and script logo combination that runs around the side of the garment. The Athletic Cord crewnecks come in Black and Violet, with silk-screenprint branding on the chest and a drawstring in the hem.
The Patta Military Hoodie comes to Shelflife in a Navy and Violet variations. The hoodie features 3M branding, as well as a contrasting Nylon Taslon Taffeta hood. The last two items Shelflife will stock for the first Patta release in South Africa is the Biker Logo Hoodie and Rugby Polo. The Beige hoodie features a Chennile logo in a contrasting Biker font, while the blue Headless Rugby Polo features graphic on the front with a contrasting collar.
The first Shelflife exclusive Patta drop is today at our new JHB store in Rosebank Mall, and this Friday 15 March in Cape Town and online.
