Last week the highly-anticipated Nike React Element 87 dropped worldwide, as well as on our local Nike.com. Dropping in 2 colourways, the Element 87 makes use of Nike’s revolutionary new React foam technology, while the upper sees a translucent shell, exterior taping on the heel, an exposed lace collar, as well as trail-running style laces. Both a sail/cream and black versions dropped, with the sail/cream version standing out as the most coveted of the two.
Considered by most as the best Nike sneaker in recent memory, and already being called “Sneaker of the year” by some, it's no surprise these release colourways flew off the shelves. Overkill Berlin went all out for their drop on the 21st of June. The European retailer made a pop-up store that from the outside looked like a small work shed made of plywood, while the inside features specific displays for the black and white pair respectively. The black pair rested atop of natural-coloured crates while the sail variety sat atop black wood that was spray painted.
Nike’s brand new React Element 87 sneaker was originally debuted as part of a five-piece collaborative collection with Jun Takahashi’s Undercover label. Upon that reveal, the sneaker internet has gone absolutely crazy, making early claims for its sneaker of the year potential. With the sneaker selling out so fast, most have been forced to pay high resell on StockX, or alternatively have to try forget the sneaker even existed in the first place.
But luckily we have some good news for you! Stayed tuned to Shefllife for more info regarding the release of both the sail/cream and black version of the Nike React Element 87 at both our CPT and JHB stores.
