The Nike Air Max 180 in its original colourway of Ultramarine is making a triumphant comeback this year in celebration of 2018 Air Max Day.
The Nike Air 180 has been a Shelflife favourite of the Air Max line ever since first discovering it. It has always stood out to us, representing something quite different from styles like the BW or the 93 that came before and after.
For those that need a little history lesson, the Air 180 gets its name from the “50% larger” air unit that is visible throughout a 180 degrees of rotation, meaning a partially transparent outsole. While the 180’s upper was mostly a varying shade of white, the shoe was also known for the vibrant pops of colour that usually surrounded the visible air, as well as the heel counter and tongue branding. The most recognized version of the shoe is undoubtedly the OG Ultramarine colourway which marries the clean white upper with pink and blue elements in what is a perfect representation of the styling that the 180 is known for.
The sneaker last released back in 2013 and it’s known for its signature colours of mixing a full white leather/mesh upper that is accented with Ultramarine on the lining, Swooshes and outsole, while solar red is applied on the tongue branding and heel portion. A white midsole and black outsole completes the design altogether.
The Nike Air Max 180 "Ultramarine" will drop on the 24th of February in our CPT, JHB and online store for the retail price of R1899.00
