Nike Air Max 1 Master

With Air Max Day approaching (March 26) — a number of Air Max silhouettes will be offered throughout this month in celebration of the event, with one notable standout being this Nike Air Max 1 Master.

Nike’s Air Max 1 Master brings together a patchwork of references from its time as a collaborative base-model. It’s fitting tribute to the silhouette, which celebrates its 30th birthday this year. Rather than an all-out colour explosion from top to bottom, as seen on previous ‘What the’ releases, the Master takes a much more sophisticated approach by setting multi-coloured mudguard across a black background.

Perforated black leather against the upper has been lifted straight from the Kid Robot x Air Max 1. It gives a luxurious finish and that distinctive aesthetic which is only found across exclusives. While that part of the upper keeps it simple and refined, the lower mudguard couldn’t be more eye-catching. Different colours and textures of material circle the lower half, each part representing a different release and showcasing the rich Air Max 1 heritage.

Safari detailing and vibrant colours are lifted straight from our favourite sneakers. That includes the Patta x Air Max 1 ‘Chlorophyll’ as well as the atmos’ ‘Viotech’ to name a few. To complete the look, a full black coloured midsole sits underfoot with an electric blue coloured Air Unit in the heel.

The Nike Air Max 1 Master will drop on Saturday the 11th of March 2017 via in store raffle for the retail price of R2399.00.
