American street artist, illustrator and activist Shepard Fairey is set to release a new screen print edition later this week.
Returning to his early inspiration of Punk and Post-Punk album art, the artist has created a screen print, entitled "Slice It Up", that captures the design aesthetics of the Punk and Post-Punk eras as well as the spirit and do-it-yourself ethos of the movements.
Declared on his website, "I love that Punk was not about virtuosity, but ingenuity, creativity, attitude, and fearlessness. If you don’t like it, rip it up, or slice it up, and start over."
The 18 x 24 inch screen prints form a 100-piece edition, with each print signed and numbered by the artist. Prints are priced at $45.00 each, and will be made available for purchase via the Obey Giant online store on the 9th of January between the hours of 10am and noon PST (pacific time).
