Layupshot: Japan's Biggest Online Museum of Game-Worn NBA Jerseys & Bespoke Nikes
Highsnobiety's series From the Ground Up recently dropped a new episode, taking a look at Japan's 'Layupshot.' Owned by Tadahiro Hakamata, his online museum boasts a staggering 1500 game-worn NBA jerseys, as well as bespoke Nike sneakers. It's really something you have to see to believe!

Hakamata has been collecting NBA jerseys for roughly 25 years, and he decided to open his online museum 10 years ago. According to the episode, his obsession with the game of basketball began in middle school as he became fascinated with the NBA and its players. Shortly thereafter, Hakamata got wind of Michael Jordan and he had to have everything MJ wore.

But how on earth did he get all of these rare jerseys? Tadahiro started at charity auctions and events in the US, before moving on to the NBA auction system in 2006. He admits that he was buying up to 300 game-worn jerseys per year. Tadahiro Hakamata has since moved on to sneakers too, gathering a serious bespoke Nike collection.

If you're a fan of Basketball or retro sporting merchandise in general, feast your eyes on this massive online museum honouring the Greats of the NBA. And for more insight into Layupshot's Bespoke collection, see the 'From the Ground Up' video below!

If you're interested in buying any, see their Facebook page. But be warned, prices are high!
