Recently we’ve been asked what exactly is Nikelab? It's a fair question seeing as in the last year or so we've been releasing more and more of the brand's style/silhouettes.
Nikelab first opened its doors in June 2014 and consists of several locations worldwide. The brand also sells apparel and sneakers via their accompanying website as well as in Nike Tier 0 stores. Their primary focus is to reuse current ideas & designs and reinvent them into something fresh, quality-driven and trendsetting.
Nikelab is an endeavor to create high-end fashion from classic footwear and apparel (but in much more limited quantities). Nikelab has worked with several designers of their own such as Fragment and Sacai to help incorporate fashion forward designs, premium materials, quality craftsmanship and performance upgrades on current and retro Nike models. All of these aspects play into the price increase of their releases.
The brand wanted to reshape customers’ retail experience with the launch of their Nikelab stores. Each store location is a carefully curated retail space, designed to encourage interactivity, exploration — and of course provide merchandise for consumers. The unique retail locations feature a collection of sneakers and apparel that is specific to the Nikelab initiative’s mission of combined sports and style.
With Shelflife being a Nike Tier 0 store, we exclusively release Nikelab styles throughout the year – below is a range of Nikelab releases that are available in our CPT and JHB store, as well as online.
