“ExtraLife” ”“ A Dillon Abrahams Original

A few days ago while scrolling through our Instagram account checking out the latest #SLHEAT posts, we stumbled upon something epic and it had us begging to find out more. Dillon Abrahams created something spectacular using our very own Shelflife shopping bags. When asking Dillon what surged this creative drive to create something truly unique; it wasn't just a pile of bags that were gaining height in the corner of his room, but actually our Shelflife 10 Year celebrations.

“There were many things contributing to the birth of the jacket. Most of them being: The 10 year anniversary Shelflife collabs, the procrastination for cleaning up my room and being annoyed by ‘’sneaker connoisseurs’’ who were being mean school girls. Eventually I scrubbed my room clean and tidied up my shoe boxes only to be surprised by how many cozy homes I’ve created for, four-legged creatures… Nevertheless, I tossed them out and found the Midas pile of tot-bag hoarding. I’ve always lowkey obsessed about having my own clothing label, and were always perplexed as to how to take the 1st step -  at that moment is when the idea was conceived. I didn’t have any patterns or idea where to begin with the overall style of the jacket. However, I was inspired by the current tracksuit craze and began the concoction of the jacket as I went along and hope it would stand out to fans more cultured to the Shelflife brand. The reflective detailing was inspired by the AM97 Silverbullet sneaker and somewhat a coupling the Shelflife jacket itself.

I thought the 10 year anniversary collabs were major steps for the Shelflife brand being cemented in the culture and organically giving hope to local creative-hopefuls as myself to knock on doors of major companies with an idea and a pocket full of air.”
