Chicago Native and former RSVP Gallery buyer Easy Otabor recently opened his contemporary art gallery with an exhibition celebrating Michael Jordan, as well as the upcoming Air Jordan 11 Retro - ‘Bred’. Under the name ‘Unite Through Culture', the exhibition is actually a partnership with the Jumpman themselves, paying homepage to the GOAT, while giving everyone a sneak peak of the Jordan 11 ahead of its release this Saturday the 14th.
Alongside an installation of Retro Air Jordan 11 'Bred' pairs meticulously positioned in a group with their laces touching the ceiling, art inspired by Michael Jordan lines the walls. Artists Kosuke Kawamura, Corey Black, Matt McCormick, George Bayliss, ADE Makinde, Wu Yue, and Jacob Rochester all have work on display that specifically honours and interprets Michael Jordan’s athletic career in 1996, the year he played in the original Air Jordan 11 'Breds.'
The exhibition opens today in Chicago by appointment only. Enjoy the pictures and good luck for the Air Jordan 11 Retro - 'Bred' release this Saturday 14 December.
