Cape Town Electronic Music Festival (CTEMF), Cape Town’s top underground music festival, is once again coming to the mother city from 6th- 8th of April.
Established in 2012, the festival has grown to become the biggest platform for South Africa’s electronic music culture and industry. CTEMF has also grown global recognition as being the most forward-thinking and representative of music events. For these reasons, the festival has been able to secure amazing local and international electronic acts in past years, which include the likes of Richie Hawtin, Benga, Sibot, Ryan Hemsworth, Petite Noir, Four Tet, Mr Carmack and Adam de Smit, to name a few.
For the first time since its inception, CTEMF will not be held in the first week of February. Instead, the festival will be held on the weekend of the 6th of April. The venue for this year’s festival has also changed to the Atlantic Film Studio in Montague Gardens, only 15 minutes outside the CBD. If you aren’t in Cape Town, don’t stress. For the first year ever, CTEMF will be holding satellite events in Durban and Johannesburg on the 8th and 9th of April respectively.
South Africa’s top underground electronic festival has already begun its three-days series of free workshops and showcases where international and local talents join forces to share skills, insights and stories. These workshops are held at various locations throughout Cape Town and end this evening the 5th of April.
This year’s impressive international headliners include Egyptian Lover, Artbat, Deetron, Job Jobse, DJ Stingray, The Hacker, Gerd Janson and RAG.
