While the whole of SA wasn’t lucky enough to get Blondey McCoy’s crazy and just dropped adidas Skateboarding Transparent Superstar, we are at least treated to a skate video with the release in action. Titled 'FREEDOM NINETEEN', the video travels between Milan, Rome, Moscow, Monaco and London, all filmed by Austin Bristow, and of course, celebrates the release of McCoy’s Superstar 80s.
FREEDOM NINETEEN opens with Blondey’s grandmother unboxing a pair of the see-through shoe. “Lovely, so proud of him,” she says as she admires them. The rest of the film documents McCoy’s travels as he skates from city to city while Kanye West’s 'God Is' plays in the background.
“It’s been my dream since I was a child to have my name on a piece of skateboarding equipment,” McCoy wrote on Instagram. “For that dream to have been made real, for that piece of equipment to be an adidas Superstar, and for me to not only have been given the opportunity design it, but also to creatively direct the entire project that surrounds it, still doesn’t feel quite real to me.”
The adidas Skateboarding x Blondey McCoy Superstar 80 didn't release in SA this past weekend but you can still find some sizes on international sites if you want to make a plan. This SneakerFreaker Article might help!
