European sneaker retailer Footpatrol has an upcoming collaboration with ASICS that utilising the Gel-Saga silhouette. When the ASICS Gel-Saga silhouette originally launched in 1991, the design was primarily inspired by the Gelgoog mecha suit from Sunrise Inc.’s popular anime series Mobile Suit Gundam. Now, London’s own Footpatrol is making sure no one forgets the manga inspiration that launched a fan-favourite sneaker by releasing a new version in collaboration with ASICS.
This Footpatrol x ASICS GEL-Saga sports a white mesh and cream suede upper accented by metallic blue hits at the ASICS branding stripes, heel accent and co-branding on the tongue and heel counter. The mech-inspired color scheme continues to the sole unit, which sees a white midsole, icy outsole and blue ASICS insignia on the side. Last but not least, neon pink touches appear at the lace tips and insole branding.
The ASICS x Footpatrol Gel-Saga "Gundam" is releasing for the retail price of R1699.00 at both our CPT and JHB stores, with remaining pairs online at 11am. Stay tuned for updates on release date.
