Converse x Come Tees Collection
Founded by artist Sonya Sombreuil, Los Angeles brand Come Tees team up with Converse to put their unique spin on the Chuck Hi and 5 apparel pieces.
The eclectic style of Come Tees envisions a new realm of fashion with a multi-panel Chuck 70. Come Tees’ distinct and surreal style for streetwear incorporates hand-drawn and painted figures, playful uses of colour, subversive text and abstract imagery. With a unique look on every panel of these Chucks, the vivid graphic language of Come Tees turns the expertly-crafted Chuck 70 into a stream-of-consciousness work of art.
The brand's hand painted art style floods the upper paired with animal print and a contrasting bright orange Chuck Taylor ankle logo that provides these sneakers with a customised look. The classic Converse outsole comes painted to give a broken/cracked effect making this pair of Chucks truly unique from the rest.
Finishing the collection off are 2 cotton tees, chinos, a hoodie and a pair of shorts, all featuring the same crazy painted and animal print makeover.
Featuring a vivid all-over print from Come Tees, this triangular take on a t-shirt is based on body shape. It defies traditional labels, giving you four intelligent sizes that let you choose your style. Thoughtfully designed with a boxy silhouette and cut-and-sew seams that form a triangle at the back. The hoodie arrives in the same white colourway, featuring an exaggerated silhouette and pleats that expand so you can move freely.
Next up, the Triangle Realms & Realities Tees see the same fit in a black colourway, matching with the shorts. Finally, the Chino Pants feature a vivid all-over print, with a triangular take on chinos is based on body shape. Thoughtfully designed with an elastic waist that allows for a more flexible fit, plus voluminous leg and ankle darts to help you move freely.
The Converse x Come Tees Collection drops Thursday 17 February in CPT, JHB and online. Online at 7am, stores open at 10am.
